La Mercerie is a foundational expression of the Roman and Williams ethos: a French all-day café where culinary art, interior design, and object craft are seamlessly integrated. The restaurant is an extension of the adjacent Roman and Williams Guild, creating a holistic New York destination.
The cuisine, under chef-partner Marie-Aude Rose and executive chef Heloise Fischbach, reimagines classic French cooking with precision and care. The design embodies timeless, relaxed elegance. Soaring windows, watery blue velvet banquettes, and tiled walls define the luminous dining room. Every object on the table—ceramics, glassware—is made by Roman and Williams or its global family of Guild artisans. An intimate marble Guild Bar, wrapped in a midnight-blue mural, anchors the junction between restaurant and shop.
Housed in a landmark 1857 building with a gardened Parisian sidewalk terrace, La Mercerie has been celebrated since its 2017 opening, named a best new restaurant by The New York Times and The New Yorker.
