Description

Used as a bottle or a vase, Yoshihiro Nishiyama’s glass vessel is characterized by signature light-catching surfaces that frame an orbed interior, clearly highlighting the breath infused into each piece. A master of Katabuki (kata meaning “mold” and buki meaning “blow”), the artist manipulates the temperature of his hand-blown glassware while experimenting with gravity to forge rippled, shimmering finishes that he likens to “floating on the surface of a lake.”
