A modern interpretation of classic seventeenth century English designs, the Davenport’s frame is constructed from solid hardwood, every piece of which is shaped, sanded, buffed, and finished by hand at a multi-generational, family-owned woodworking shop in the Northeast. Its upholstery is hand-sewn, steamed, and smoothed by a master upholsterer, who has spent more than 40 years honing his craft. Soft, curving dips at the end of each arm offer a natural resting place for the hand, a high-touch detail that requires immense skill and patience to perfect. For unparalleled and lasting comfort, the Davenport features a lumbar cushion, single, continuous seat cushion, eight-way hand-tied springs, and reinforced joints.
