Now available in a new, extended 114” length as well as a blue hue that shimmers subtly like the surface of the water, the Grande Davenport Sofa is Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer’s modern interpretation of classic seventeenth century English design.

First debuted in 2017, Alesch and Standefer reimagined the antique silhouette with thoughtful, timeless features including an architectural, solid hardwood frame, which is hand-finished by a multi-generational, family-owned workshop in the northeast. Custom hardware, handmade in Maine, reinforces the structure with jewel-like details. Comfort was made paramount in the seat cushions’ eight-way hand-tied springs and the gentle curvature added to the end of each arm affords a natural resting place for the hand —a high touch detail that demands immense skill and patience. Upon completion, the Davenport’s upholstery is hand-sewn, steamed, and smoothed by a master upholsterer who has spent more than 40 years honing his craft—for a finish that rises to the level of art.
